The first ever Haddenham Ladies' football match took place on Thursday 25th August when the team played host to Flackwell Heath Ladies from the Thames Valley South Division Two.
The first half started brightly for the visitors but there were no clear cut chances and it took a while for the hosts to get fully settled in to the game, although they did finish the first half the more dominant.
The second half was all Haddenham, but they could not break down the Heath defence, and when they did they still had the goalkeeper to beat.
Finally, thirty minutes into the second half, Hannah broke the deadlock to score the first ever Haddenham ladies' GOAL!
The visitors' heads seemed to drop then and five minutes later Hannah scored her (and Haddenham's) second goal. A late flurry from Heath only left their defence open and Haddenham countered and Tigz scored with a looping header over the keeper from a pinpoint cross.
Final score: 3-0 to Haddenham Ladies.
Overall, it was a very impressive game and was a great advert for the women's game. Both sides played well and appeared to have enjoyed the match.
